Sybil Marie

My name is Sybil. I  have reached the half century mark and when I figure out what that means I will let you know. I really don't feel any different than I did 20 years ago, a bit more, well, character maybe.(sounds better than wrinkles doesn't it?)

I Have written all my life (Well okay it has just been in journals for me, but still :) ) Have a 22 yrs old son that I adopted as a baby . He is wonderful and strong young man and I am sure that some of my writing will be about Him. He was born with an cleft lip and palate and has been through 13 surgeries, he is the bravest person I have ever known..

   I am a behavior specialist and writer focusing on children who fall within the Autism spectrum. My twenty years of experience down in the trenches with these incredible children and their families has given me a wonderful ability to view how We have evolved in the understanding, treatment and teaching of these most precious children.

 I have seen firsthand how difficult it can be for many of these children to navigate new and over stimulating environments, and have worked with them and their parents to make these experiences more successful. My articles reflect my journey with them, and if they are of assistance to you I am grateful.

As I began to network with more and more parents, I hear the same complaint, why are there no books out there for our kids?

 One parent in particular said “My kid is very concrete, Bobby bunny at the dentist is fun to read but my son is not a bunny, and the language in the story is too vague! “ This gave me the idea for my books.

 My children's books are written with children on the spectrum in mind. They are all written in the first person in a format that is both engaging and takes into consideration that many of our children process visual language  which is concrete (in words and pictures) more readily than spoken language which is transient.

 My first book is ( which is in process of publication)I’M GOING ON AN AIRPLANE, I am a child of the I AM, the ever living, eternal   creator. I am a believer in the truth of the sacrifice of the son of the Creator, sent to this earth to open the door between heaven and earth, that we might be given a new birth in the spirit, a new place in the universe.
